PostHeaderIcon About "PLETENKA" in Tula region

     "Pletenka" is a tourist village in the picturesque surroundings of the Oka river in Zaoksk district of the Tula region near the village Velegozh. It is the place where you can dip into the boundless world of out-of-town life and recreation. These most beautiful places were glorified in the works of the prominent Russian landscape painter Vasiliy Dmitrievich Polenov (1844-1927), and Andrey Timofeevich Bolotov (1738-1833) who was a writer, a scientist, a botanist and a forestry specialist, one of the founders of agronomics and pomology in Russia.

     Zaoksk district borders on Moscow, Tula and Kaluga regions. . Formally it belongs to the Tula region, though some time ago the idea was discussed of passing it over to Moscow region. What is Zaoksk district attractive for?
     First of all, it is attractive for its ecology. Recent research showed that one cube centimeter of air there has 2,700 negatively charged ions, which corresponds to the standards of the best resorts of Switzerland. It is important that there is no ecologically harmful production in the area. Zaoksk district is mainly an agricultural area. Local food products are of wonderful quality and have a bargain price.

     On the territory of Zaoksk district of mineral water deposits were found, and the healing properties of the local mineral water "Zaoksaya"” do not yield to the quality of the best mineral waters of the Caucasus. You can enjoy the local mineral water "Zaoksaya" in the tourist village "Pletenka".
      For many years Zaoksk district has been officially recognized as a health resort. the clean waters of Oka, Vashmana, Vypreika, Skniga, Besputa, Soena, Gorodeika, Solomenka, Yamnitsa and other rivers there are plenty of fish and crayfish, one can also find a lot of beavers. In its green forests (which occupy about 7 percent of the territory of the district) there are plenty of wild animals.
     Besides, Zaoksk district is famous for its two "pearls": the estate-museum "Polenovo" and the village "Velegozh". The village is very popular with the people who come here to enjoy the pine groves and the most beautiful landscapes.


     For family rest there are nice comfortable cottages with all conveniences. For dinner you can be suggested specially cooked home dishes. Here you can celebrate your wedding or any other special event.


   In a hot summer a fountain and very comfortable arbours will hide you from the burning sun. In 200m from the cottages there is a sandy beach where you can have a night open-air party. If you wish, you can enjoy sitting in a bar with a martini. There is also a billiard at your disposal, and for those who like taking a steam bath there is a Russian steam-house with firewood.

   If you like to communicate while smoking a hookah you can enjoy it in the hall of eastern style, there is a hookah with any flavor at your disposal.

   To fishing lovers we can suggest fishing at a private pond where sturgeon, trout and carp are found. There is fishing tackle at your disposal - you are not to take anything with you. It’s so nice to fish and cook your fresh fish on charcoal just near the summer house!

It is possible to organize a transfer to the tourist village "Pletenka" from Moscow as well as excursions to:
- the estate-museum Polenovo;
- Yasnaya Polyana, the estate - museum of Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy;
- the Arms Museum in Tula;
- the Tula Samovars Museum;
